I’m a freelance editor. Publishing has been my dream career ever since entering college. In elementary school, Ghostbusters pretty much represented my dream career. I have to admit, I still think that would be a snazzy career to have, but I wouldn’t want to give up publishing. And let’s not dive into the disappointment of never getting my Hogwarts letter.
I’ve always been a book addict. Some of my favorite book genres include fantasy, paranormal, historical, horror, and any combination of the above with a dash of romance. Really anything that falls within the speculative fiction or historical category. Now and again a contemporary dealing with tough issues catches my eye. When it comes to women’s fiction I gravitate toward historical plots. I don’t shy away from dark stories or plots and in fact quite enjoy a dark story when it matches my tastes. As for romance, I love historical romance and romance that falls within my favorite genres mentioned above.
I’ve had the opportunity to edit for several publishing houses from small to bigger ones. I’ve worked with smaller houses like Musa Publishing, Swoon Romance, Evernight Publishing, and Curiosity Quills. I’ve worked with the manga publisher Digital Manga Inc. I’ve even proofread for the Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group and Hachette’s Yen Press imprint. I also interned at Inklings Literary Agency and was an assistant at Holloway Literary. On the editing side I specialize in copy editing and proofreading, but I also have experience content editing. I’ve edited short stories, anthologies, novels, and manga. I’ve gotten to work with many lovely authors, including Amazon bestsellers. I edit young adult, new adult, and adult works. I also have experience with middle grade contemporary and fantasy.
